Enter My Man Cave

I am always sad to admit that I have practically no visual aesthetic sense.

Mismatched Chic.  Sloppy Couture.  Abstract Amateurism.

My guy brain just can’t be troubled with having to figure out what to put where in order to make it look good.  I know what DOES look good, when I see it.  I just don’t necessarily know how to create (or re-create it).

So I was VERY excited when my friend Emily told me about her incredible blog A Room of His Own.

This blog is awesome.  Postings about art, furniture sales, features on actual man caves from history And it offers practical advice and suggestions about how to do things yourself – including a section which allows you to choose which “cave” suits you best! (I’m a classic.)  It doesn’t just mock your inability to afford things like a Restoration Hardware magazine.

Some of my favorite recent posts include:

Tools that open bottles.

Unique bookshelves (I’m big on personal libraries.)

And being the foodie and cook that I am – my all time favorite so far: The Kitchen as Man Cave!

A record player in a kitchen!?!? Now I’ve seen EVERYTHING!

Okay – I’ve shown you mine.  What’s your man cave look like?

  1. In our house, the phrase “man cave” is forbidden.

But, uh, I’m maybe a little obsessed with home decorating and organizing. Have you seen my Pinterest boards?

      1. All you need learn is: pretty pictures, “pin” them to virtual bulletin boards. lust after things you no have. the end.
