Mi Casa Es Su Casa

Tomorrow begins the big drive.  The car is packed for the next two months, and I’ll hit the road for Palo Alto, CA where this summer I’ll be performing in Upright Grand, a new play by Laura Schellhardt.

I’m excited to be away from LA for a couple months and to be in a great part of California.  Palo Alto (read “Stanford”) should be beautiful during the summer, and some dear friends live nearby.

I prefer to take the 101 as opposed to the 5 to NorCal.  I know this route takes (ever so slightly) more time, but the views are far easier on the eyes than the dreadfully bleak 5-North. But either route provides an opportunity to stop at one of my favorite roadside attractions in Hollister:

Yes, an entire casa devoted to wine. (And gourmet deli sandwiches or something.) Technically this is part of the original Casa de Fruta, but my guess is they had to do something with all that fruta once it started to ferment.  They’ve even expanded into travel accommodations.  Maybe I’ll even hop a ride over at:

All aboard for a great summer!

  1. Somehow I’ve still never stopped at Casa de Fruta…I haven’t done the drive in a long time, but I did usually take the 5 when making my long distance romance commute 🙂

So glad you’re here for the summer. I’ll be gladder when we hang out.

    I’ll stop pestering you now.
